COMPARE AND CONTRAST JIHADI ISLAM AND EVANGELICAL CHRISTIANITY

Saturday, 04 February 2006

What is the belief evangelical Christianity and Jihadi Islam share ?

‘world is divided between believers and non-believers. Non-believers are sinners who either should be converted or killed’. Both have the unending thirst for quantitative and territorial expansion. Their potential dreamlands are called ‘christendom/kingdom’ and ‘Dar-ul-Islam’. Both subscribe to the radical mindset called ‘Wahabism’ and evangelicals are called American Wahabis. Noted Sam Harris in his book, “The End of Faith” writes that text-based faiths are responsible for the problems in the world today. Read Jealous Gods to find more about the competitors.

What is the difference between evangelical Christianity and Jihadi Islam?

There is not much difference in their thought as they are competitors trying to outrun each other. Modern day Evangelical missionaries inflict 90% psychological and 10% physical violence whereas jihadis inflict 10% psychological and 90% physical violence. Missionaries are rarely caught because their agents are at the highest echelons of power and also have the best public relations campaign in the world. For this reason evangelical violence is hard to detect. For more information on Jihad checkjihadwatch.org

Who are Evangelicals?

Broadly defined, evangelicals are Christians who have had a personal or “born-again” religious conversion, believe the Bible is the word of God, and believe in spreading their faith. Millions of Americans fit in this definition, although estimates vary on exactly how many: Forty-two percent of Americans described themselves as evangelical Christians in a 2003 Gallup poll, while only 19 percent said they met all three criteria in a 1995 Gallup poll. The National Association of Evangelicals says about 25 percent of adult Americans are evangelicals.

What is so special about these ‘born-again’ christians?

They are so fundamentalist in their approach and obsessed in their belief that many critics define‘born-again’ as people ‘who refuse to grow-up’.

Who are heathen?

Heathen is the derogatory term used to define non-christians just as the word kafir is used to define non-muslims.

What is the missionary definition of Heathen?

The heathen are spirituality lost, wicked, willful sinners, without Christ, having no hope and without God in the world. Their moral conditions are reeking with filthy and degrading habits& They are marked by abject poverty, wretched homes and unremitting.

(R. Glovers, The Progress of World Wide Mission, ed. H. Kane, (New York: Harper and Brothers, 1960)

What is evangelism?

Euaggelion (Evangelism) is the proclamation of the good-news with emphasis on conversion, and prosleytization.

What is conversion?

Depends! whether you ask the perpetrator or victim.

According to ‘Easton Illustrated Dictionary ‘ (a Christian dictionary)

Conversion is the turning of a sinner to God (Acts 15:3). In a general sense the heathen are said to be “converted” when they abandon heathenism and embrace the Christian faith; and in a more special sense men are converted when, by the influence of divine grace in their souls, their whole life is changed, old things pass away, and all things become new (Acts 26:18). Thus we speak of the conversion of the Philippian jailer (16:19-34), of Paul (9:1-22), of the Ethiopian treasurer (8:26-40), of Cornelius (10), of Lydia (16:13-15), and others.

According to Dayananda Saraswati (Arsha Vidya Gurukulam)

When you physically hurt me, it is violence. If you hurt me emotionally, it is violence. And if you hurt me spiritually, that is the worst violence, rank violence. When you convert somebody, you have to criticize the person’s religion, his worship, his culture. All these hurt. When he converts, there is more hurt. He has to disown his parents, their wisdom and their culture, his ancestors and entire community. You isolate, uproot and emotionally unsettle him.

According to Matthew McDaniel (Friends of People close to Nature)

Conversion as practiced by Christian Missionaries IS violence, there is no other accurate definition for it. Missionaries discuss the violent nature of their work in terms likeextraction theology”, meaning to tear people out of their culture, communities, alienate them.

How do they do that?

They have been using a very simple strategy.

Missionary when in minority is as gentle as a lamb, when in equality is as clever as a fox, and when in the majority is as fierce as a tiger

What is the difference between Evangelism, proselytism and religious conversion?

There is no difference though some churches use it to whitewash their past sins. Churches call Proselytism, an unworthy witness and Evangelism, a worthy witness. All the major churches claim that they don’t do proselytism but only practice evangelism. Read Don’t call it Proselytism

Does church really repent for its past sins?

A big NO! Churches changed the methodology but not the mentality. Repentence involves realising the mistake and not repeting the same. Churches claim that church inspired activities such as Crusades, inquisition, anti-semiticism, colonials, genocide, proselytism against heathen are wrong but commit the same detrimental activities under a different banner. It is a public relations exercise rathen than repentence. Read POPE S MEA CULPA — A PR-STUNT . also The beatification of Alojzije Stepinac

Who are missionaries?

The neo-Nazis who perpetrate proselytism can be called missionaries. They are the preachers of intolerance.

Are all missionaries that bad?

Not all! Many Missionaries are good natured people! unfortunately they work for a wrong cause. They have been brainwashed and made to believe that they are doing good work.

What is Tithing?

Bible commands every christian to contribute atleast 10% of his/her income to church. Check Tithing in America which is the biggest financer of present day missionary activity

What is Great Commission?

It is this phrase in the bible

“All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.” (Jesus – Matthew 28:18-20).

Missionaries picked this sentence from the Bible which suits their needs and called that an order from their God. (There are many phrases in Bible conflicting the same and they are conveniently ignored) At surface every missionary claims that they are implementing the word of their God i.e., Great Commission

What motivates missionary activities?

There are primarily 3 reasons for the motivation

  1. Expression of Intolerance
  2. Business and Political Market Share
  3. Imperial and Colonial tool to subdue people

1) Expression of Intolerance:

Missionary activitiy is an easy path to express one’s intolerance towards other religions and cultures because it can be claimed as an order from God and a secular society is supposed to accept every religious activity. Some Biblical verses missionaries literally believe in are

· 1 Corinthians 10:20-21 “But I say, that the things which the Gentiles [heathen ] sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils. Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils.” Here, Paul writes that the Gods and Goddesses of other religions are actually demons. Christians are to completely isolate themselves from non-Christians.

· 2 Corinthians 6:14-17: “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers [in Christ]: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial [Baal]? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel…Wherefore come out from among them and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.” The author associates non-Christians to unbelief, unrighteousness, darkness, the worship of Baal and uncleanliness. He calls on Christians to separate themselves from persons of other religions.

· 1 Timothy 4:1: “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils…” Beliefs of other religions are described as coming from evil spirits and devils. · Revelation 9:20-21: “And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk.” This is a reference of an end-of-the-world scenario in which non-Christians did not abandon their worship of other gods – here defined as devils and statutes of deities

2) Market share

Churches seek numbers to increase their market share. It is similar to a soft drink company ‘Copsi’ trying to make a water drinker and other soft drink consumers to drink its ‘Copsi’. It is very rare to find conversion for spiritual purposes. Missionaries are monetarily rewarded for their success rate in conversion and have aggressive monthly targets to achieve. For instance Pope John paul calls protestants rapacious wolves for converting catholics. Why should Pope be bothered about numbers if it is a spiritual activity. Aren’t Protestants also Christians ? Do you know that Vatican receives tax from parishes (local church). It is called diocese tax. See Tithing.

Aikman, David in his book Jesus in Beijing discusses How Christianity is Transforming China and Changing the Global Balance of Power by

Territorial Expansion: Jomo Kenyatta, Kenya’s first elected Prime Minister (1963-1964) and President (1964-1978) said: “When the missionaries arrived, the Africans had the land and the missionaries had the Bible. They taught us to pray with our eyes closed. When we opened them, they had the land and we had the Bible.”

3) Imperial and colonial tool to subdue populations

Who are the people behind missionaries? Since the advent of Christianity various Governments and Churches were behind the missionaries. Traditionally European colonials were the drivers whereas since World War II Americans have taken over the ‘Battle for souls’.

Beginning of Christianity: Rome had suffered social disorder from its very foundations. In 312 the Emperor Constantine made Christianity the state religion. Paganism was still tolerated, but temple treasures were confiscated and used to financially support church-building programs and Pagans (Heathen) were persecuted.

Colonial tool:

Maia Green, in Priests, Witches and Power: Popular Christianity after Mission in Southern Tanzania(Cambridge University Press) mentions

Of course, neither colonialism nor missionary evangelisations were unitary projects in any simple sense (Thomas 1994).However,affinities in goal and pur- pose fostered a synergy that was to enhance the expansionist capabilities of both. Colonialism is essentially concerned with the establishment and consolidation of control over subject populations through their transformation (Comaroff and Comaroff 1992:235).The aims of evangelical mission were similar.Certain kinds of people needed to be converted from a awed system of belief to another perfect one if they were to achieve salvation.

Present day Christian mindset:

Ann Coulter, Editor of National Review writes

….. We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity. We weren’t punctilious about locating and punishing only Hitler and his top officers. We carpet-bombed German cities; we killed civilians. That’s war. And this is war.

Do you know that missionaries and soldiers travel together to war-zones? Read Salon’s — Onward Christian Soldiers

Are they really in their senses?

It doesn’t seem to be so. They have been robotically trained to ‘convert anything which moves’. AKorean missionary tried to convert a lion.

Are the religions based on books responsible for the carnage?

No! it is not just the books. It is the people reading and interpreting those books. Even Jews and liberal christians follow the book but they are quite different. Read Religious fervor vs. Religious tolerance.
