Bus driver-wisdom 22
Let’s take a bus driver who drives from Colombo to Kandy.
Driver first sits on the driving seat & memorize the destination. What actually happens here is, he makes a picture of Kandy in his mind thinking that a town called “Kandy “is persisting in a distant location. At this time, he makes the pictures of all towns in between Colombo & Kandy & he thinks he has to go through those so –called “cities” to Kandy. But he does not know what he made is, the mental pictures in his mind. These are the mental pictures he made when he is in Colombo. But, due to lack of vision, he thinks a town called “Kandy” exists….. Then he begins driving keeping that Kandy- picture in mind & passes many towns till he goes to Kandy. In so-called” Kandy” itself, he sees the proper “Kandy”. What I want to tell you is, driver can not see Kandy once he starts the bus from Colombo. What he sees as “Kandy” is a mental picture he develops in his own mind.
In Kandy, he develops the picture of Colombo in his mind & pictures of all “cities “on the way & returns to Colombo.
Until the day he gets the retirement, he does the same thing just like the deer runs behind the mirage in the dry zone in search of water. We all are like this.
In Colombo, he develops the Kandy-picture in his mind & grasps it. But he does not meet the actual Kandy yet. He runs towards it. In Kandy he develops the Colombo- picture in his mind & grasps it &runs towards it. In both these occasions, he does not know, what he develops, are mental pictures in his mind without seeing actual so-called “cities”
One day, once he sees this real happening, he will get to know that the idea of future & past is totally lost from him & he will see that the word “Future & Past” is just a word, only a” Present” is available in every time. FUTURE & PAST ARE THE MENTAL PICTURES OF ONES MIND. The day he sees this truth,he does NOT meet any future world or past world. he realizes that he is running here & there just because of a mere shadow(reflection) coming up from his own mind.The shadow he develops in his own mind is grasped as “future world”or “past world, but only the” present” is existing. That is also for a tiny time.
World develops in ones mind due to causes , on the spot & at where you stand& the world you see is the EFFECT of it. NO future or NO past & only the PRESENT is AVAILABLE.
