On July 27, 1987, I took to the street with the people of Kasbewa constituency as a citizen who loved the country against the Indo-Lanka Pact including the 13th Amendment. The enemies of the country shot me that day. The poorest man in the village died in front of me. While in police custody, a group of people planned to kill me at night. J.R. Jayewardene, who was president at the time, had ordered the IGP Ernest Perera to destroy me.
I risked my life because I came forward to save the country from the conspirators who planned to divide the country. That’s why I lost my homeland. Since then, I have been working day and night to save the country from these traitors.
We must win the fight against these traitors.
Arun! I congratulate you on your struggle to make Sri Lanka a peaceful and desirable country.
