Honoured Sir,

Construction of a Hindu Kovil at Kurundi Vihara, a Sangika Property.

Request to refrain from engaging in such sacrilegious acts against

Buddhism.

I was heavily perturbed by the recent public statement made by Hon

Karu Jayasuriya, former Speaker that a Hundu Kovil will be constructed in the near

future at Kurundi Vihara Premises as a settlement with Hindu devotees.

As the hierarchy of Buddhist clergy, the custodians of Buddhism kept

silence on this issue I was compelled to send a letter protesting to Hon Karu

Jayasuriya Esq, against his statement, a copy of which is annexed hereto marked A.

In response to my letter Hon Karu Jayasuriya Esq was courteous enough

to speak to me over the phone and brought to my notice that it was a settlement

entered into before you and he had nothing to do with that decision. Also he promised

me to forward a copy of my letter for your consideration.

Kurundi Vihara is a sangika property which came under Seruvila

administration. Probably Hon Karu Jayasuriya Esq may be not aware of the

history of this Temple and the repercussions or Karma Vipaka of destroying

such Sangika property dedicated to Buddha Sasana..

I am writing this warning letter in that background.. Also I am

enclosing an 8 paged document about the Brief History of Malabar Tamils in

Sri Lanka to convince you that the so called Hindu devotee being the

descendants these Malabar coolies have nothing to do with this sacred Kurundi

Buddhist Temple. This document is the gist of my academic study ‘ Eelm

Exposed’ published in the year 2020. It is annexed hereto marked B

Who are these so-called Hindu Devotees.

The first question that arises here is who are these so called Hindu

devotees” in Mulative District. They are the descendants of Malabar coolies who

were brought to Jaffna Peninsula for tobacco cultivation and toddy tapping during

Dutch and British periods. ( 1656-1796 ) and ( 1796-1948) During the British period

they have migrated to Mulative and other districts.

Balthies a Calvinist priest who lived in Jaffna in between 1650 and

1666 during the Dutch period says that Pachchirapalli of Jaffna peninsula was the

boundary of King Rajasinghe 11 of Kandy Kingdom. In other words Mulative,

Vavunia, Mannar and Kilinochchi Districts were under Sinhalese Kings during

the Dutch Era.

If so how could the descendants of these Malabar coolies claim of

having 3000 thousand year long history in these districts as declared in Vadukkoddai

Resolution. This resolution was passed in the year 1976 by Tamil politicians . Mr.

S.J.V. Chelvanayakam Queen Counsel who did not have a Sri Lankan Birth certificate

even took a prominent role in passing this resolution.

This is crystal clear proof that these Malabar coolies have crept

into Mulative, Vavunia, Mannar and Kilinochchi Districts with the connivance of

British administration during the British Era. In such a situation how could they

claim of having ancient Hindu Kovils in these districts. Needless to say that

such claims are diabolical lies created by Eelam propaganda machine to

hoodwink the masses.

Also during the period of war with the assistance of Norwegian Red

Barna ,

( NGO) Ghandi Movement too has settled thousands of Indian Estate Labourers in

these districts to make these districts fully tamilized as disclosed in my book. ( see

page 330 )

LTTE Leader Tamil Selvam is one of them.

The descendants of these Malabar coolies are now struggling to

convert this ancient Buddhist Viharaya to a Hindu Kovil. Not only that they are

systematically engaged in removing debris indicating Buddhist appearance from other

Archeological sites in North and East with the sinister motive of eradicating the rights of

Sinhalese in these districts..

Please be aware that these coolies were originally labelled as Malabars

prior to 1901. Their name was changed as Ceylon Tamils by the Sir Ponnambalam

Arunachalam.

the first Ceylonese Registrar General, a grand son of toilet cleaner who rose upto

aristocratic level thanks to Missionary education and colonial divide and rule policy.

He is the pioneer of Eelam struggle. He died in India in the year

1924 while in a visit to see his poor relatives. How could such a person claim North and

East his motherland.

. The term Malabar indicated that they were foreigners . Our

Sinhalese leaders at that time were not aware or were not able to realize or

understand hidden agenda or the gravity of this name change which ultimately

ended up in a thirty year old war. It was just like a time bomb. With this name

change a bogus Jaffna History was thereafter created with the blessings of

Christian Historians. Actually the descendants of these Malabar coolies have

no right to claim an inch of land even in the North and East.

Even though Sir Ponnambalam Arunachalam, the First Ceylonese

Registrar General in the year 1901 changed the name Malabar” to Ceylon Tamils”,

he did not have the authority change the term Malabar” in Thesawalamai

Enactments. This is another corroborative evidence that the so called Ceylon Tamils

are migrant Malabar labourers only, as stated by Jaffna Government Agent Acland

Dyke in giving evidence before the Colebrook Commission..

on 01 st October 1929.

Now I will come back to the main issue.

Honoured Sir,

Simply these Malabar Coolies presently name changed as Ceylon

Tamils are similar to Rohingias in Mienmar.( Burma ) . You may be aware that

immediately after gaining independence, Burmese rulers started chasing them

out from its soil.

Similar to LTTE organization, these Rohingias too had their own

organizations to claim parts off Burmese territory as their homelands.. You may have

heard that they killed Bikkhus meditating in Jungles even. However Mienmar rulers

unlike our leaders were able to get rid of them immediately after gaining independence.

Idi Amin of Uganda too gave the same treatment to arrogant Indians who helped

colonial rulers .

However our Sinhalese leaders such as Sir .D.S.Senanayake

accommodated these Malabar Coolies probably not knowing their brief history in Sri

Lanka, then called Ceylon. As a result Sinhalese are suffering even today due to no

fault of theirs. If our Sinhalese historians correctly briefed Sir D.S.Senanayake, about

the short history of these Malabar coolies, most probably he would have followed a

different course regarding them. He would have either chased them out from Sri

Lankan soil or would have forced them to integrate with Sinhalese on humanitarian

grounds..

Christian Historians such as Dr.G.C.Mendis and Professor K.M.De.Silva

of Peradeniya

University deliberately distorted the true history of Jaffna kingdom. Sangili 11

was the last ruler of Jaffna Kingdom. He forcibly took over the kingdom of

Levke Bandara a three year old infant who was the legitimate heir to Jaffna

Kingdom.. His custodian was Weerasundara Mudala. a pure Sinhalese. Sankili 11

was Pandiyan Prince . He is an Aryan connected to the dynasty of great

Parakaramabahu. His wife was a Sinhalese buddihst lady.

Queros in his book Temporal and Spiritual Conquest of Ceylon” vividly

describes these incidents. Yet both Dr G.C.Mendis and Professor K.M.De.Silva

wilfully omitted to mention these facts and created an atmosphere for the Eelam

Propaganda Machine to convince the whole world that Jaffna last king was a

Tamil which is a diabolical lie.

It is unfortunate that our Sinhalese educated Buddhist leaders, learned

Bikkhus and scholars such as Sir D.B.Jayatilleke, Professor Gunapala Malalasekera

and various other Sinhalese scholars did not challenge Eelam concepts at the

beginning. Surely they could have easily exposed the myth of all Eelam concepts at

that time itself but they kept silence. Dr. Colvin R de Silva, a stalwart of Lanka

Sama Samaj Party was another veteran historian who failed to counter Eelam

arguments. . With his vast knowledge and skills, he could have easily countered

these bogus Eelam claims even prior to gaining independence in the year `1948 .

However all these Sinhalese scholars failed to counter these bogus

Eelam claims

It appears that they were not interested in countering Eelam arguments. May be

that they were selfish of ministerial and ambassadorial posts and kept a Nelsonian

eye on the future danger ahead of the country . Needless to say that all of them

neglected their duty to mother Lanka and allowed bogus Eelam concepts to grow

freely. .

Former Prime Minister S.W.R.D. Bandaranayake added fuel to the

fire. He formed Sinhala Maha Saba to gain the lost interests of Sinhalese But at the

end he surrendered 3000 year old rights of Sinhalese to the North and East

Provinces , to Malabar coolies by entering into Bandarnayake -Chelvanyakam Pact .

Irony is that all these so called Sinhalese leaders remain as national heroes and

leaders even today.

Even the subsequent generation of historian produced by Peradeniya,

Kelaniya and

Jayawardenapura Universities followed the same path to the detriment of Sinhala

nation. Meantime the Tamil Diaspora was jubilant as none of the Sinhalese historians

have challenged Eelam concepts.

In this back ground I was destined to publish my academic study Eelam

Exposed” countering all these bogus Eelam concepts. This book was published in the

year 2020. Up to date none of the Tamil academics or politicians have challenge it.

This is book is now used in many Sri Lankan and some Indian Universities. The very

failure of the Tamil academics to challenge facts therein is crystal clear proof that

Malabar Tamils are similar to Rohingias in Minenmar.

I strongly hold the view that if the descendants of these Malabar

coolies want separate homelands, they should be chased out to South India, their

mother country or to Holland or to Britain, the countries of their masters.

Seruvila Temple , its connection with Kurundi Vihara and Sampoor Dagoba (

already destroyed by descendants of Malabar Coolies )

1) British colonial government in the year 1923 has appointed Seruvila

Mangla Maha Chaityawardena Society as the sole custodian of Seruvila

Temple premises. From the inception of this Society, its members were

mostly high ranking civil servants, Judicial officers, Doctors, Engineers,

lawyers and reputed philanthropists . The first Prime Minister Sir D.S.

Senanayaka too was a patron of this society.

2) Dambagasare Sumedankara Thero of Kallyanawansa Nikaya discovered

this Sacred Temple. However British Government had earlier refused to

hand over Seruvila Temple to him as it did not want to antagonize Siam

Sect.. .

3) In this situation, Mudliyar Weerasinghe intervened. He was Chief

Translator of the British Governor He made an application to release

this sacred temple to the Chaityawardena Society. His application was

granted and since then Seruvila Chaiyawardena Society is holding this

premises.

4) Society thereafter entrusted the responsibility of conducting Buddhist

rituals in the Temple to late Sumedankara Thero and his pupils…

5) Chaityawardena Society does not get involved in day to day administration

of the Temple .However when the chief Incumbent passes away, the

Society has the responsibility of appointing the most suitable pupil of the

deceased Chief Incumbent.

6) During the war period Chaityatwardena Society was able to collect millions

worth food stuff from its members and well wishers in Colombo and

suburbs and to distribute them to the Villagers in the area through late

Saranakara Thero who was the chief incumbent of the Temple at that

time.

7) There were about 15 Temples administered by both late Sumedankara

Thero and late Saranakitti Thero. Kurundi Vihara was one of them. Main

Viharas were Jayasumanaramaya of Trincomalee Town and

Mangalaramaya of Baticoloa town.

8) When Saranakitti Thero departed this life Venerable .Amarakitti Thero

challenged the authority of the Chaityawardena Society and self

proclaimed to be the Chief Incumbent of Seruvila Temple.

9) As a result the Chaityawardena Society was compelled to seek relief from

Courts.

Accordingly Society was able to obtain a restraining order from D.C.Muttur

prohibiting Amarakitti thero functioning as the Chief Incumbent of Seruvila

Temple. Not only that he was prohibited from entering Temple Premises

even.

10) As a result of this dispute, Bikkhus in the area were divided into two

camps. Majority of them supported Munhene Mettarama Thero who was

duly elected by the Chaityawardena Society. . However Thero at Kurundi

Vihara and few others backed Amarakitti Thero.

11) This is how the Chaityawardena Society lost contacts with Kurundi Vihara.

12) We understand that Amarakitti Thero has later abandoned Thero at

Kurundi vihara.

13) Sometime later Viharadipathy of Kurundi Vihara died of cancer.

14) What we know is that he has placed a Ganadevi Statue in the temple

premises and allowed Tamil villagers in the area to worship it…

15) Now it appears that the descendants of these Malabar coolies who crept

into Mulative District during the British Period want to convert this ancient

temple to a Hindu Kovil. I am made to understand that they are

instigated by Christian clergy . In any event their attempt should be

defeated at any cost.by Buddhists all over the country..

16) Christian clergy is behind this conspiracy. They have not learnt a lesson

even from Saharan’s attack, which looks like a Dittadamma Vedaeeya

Kamma.

Honoured Sir,

Do you know that these coolies have brought 150 Sivalingas recently. Their aim

appears to be convert simultaneously all dilapidated Buddhist Temples in the North

and East to Hindu Kovils. Is it the beginning of another Eelam War?.

Needles to say that it is your duty protect these ancient temples which are Sangika

Property.. Politicians may come and go. But as officers you are duty bound to protect

these ancient temples.

I consider that it is my duty to caution you and your officers about the danger of

getting involved in sacrilegious acts..

I would like to quote page 83 in my Book Eelam Exposed

1) Seruvila Temple

This has a history well over 2700 years. The Lalata Dhatu ( forehead ) relics of

Four Lord Buddhas, namely Kakusanda, Konagama, Kasyapa and Gauthama are kept for

veneration in Seruwavila Dagoba. This is the only Dagoba in Sri Lanka where Lord Gauthama

Buddha worshipped with Sapu flowers. Lord Buddha has himself entrusted the protection of

this holy place to God Sumana Nagaraja a divine power.

Even today this Temple is protected by Sumana Nagaraja a devine power. There

were several attempts made by Terrorists to destroy this Temple during the last 30 year old

war. But all of them failed due to this divine power. If their attempts succeeded surely there

will be no Seruwavila Temple today.

It is surprising to note that according to a confession of a captured Terrorist leader,

on the orders of Prabakaran, an Area Leader with about hundred terrorists came in tractors

along with their heavy weapons to destroy Seruvila Dagoba and Temple. It is said that the

previous attempts of the local leaders to destroy Seruvila Dagoba had failed and the area leader

was entrusted the matter by LTTE hierarchy .

However according to the confession, the Area leaders’ attempt to destroy Seruvila

Temple failed due to unexpected intervention of an army of snakes who suddenly appeared

and attacked and blocked their march towards the temple. About 20 terrorist have died in this

incident”.

2).Destruction of Sampoor Dagaba

Professor Wimal Wijeratne, a committee member of our society

discovered

Sampoor Dagoba a few years back. When it was discovered It was just a heap of

debris. Our Committee Members were scheduled to meet to discuss the restoration

program .

. However all of a sudden , these Tamil coolies were able to destroy

the Dagaba with the connivance of Grama Niladari and other public officers..

But the consequences were terrible. Lorry Driver who took the D8

Machine died

within few days. D8 Machine operator too died. Police did not file action against the

master mind who spent money to destroy Dagaba. I strongly believe that he too may

have died by now.. See Page… 83 Eelam Exposed..

3) Existence of Ancient Buddhist Temples and Dagobas in the so called

Homeland of Eelamists negates Eelam Theory.

Existence of large number of Buddhist Temples and Dagobas in Northern and

Eastern Provinces has become a major obstacle to Tamil Politicians in propagation of the so

called Tamil Homeland in North and East. Many of these Temples and Dagobas have a history

over more than Two Thousand and Five Hundred years. When confronted with this issue,

Tamil Politicians instead of answering, they ignore the issue and run away without facing

the question”.

Eelamists have started another campaign unnoticed by Police. Eelamists have

employed Tamil youths to erase the writings in stone inscriptions in the jungles with the aid

of machine grinders. This has happened in the jungles near Seruwavila. Sirivaddanaramya

in Dehiwatta is another ancient Temple which has been destroyed by Tamil Terrorists.

According to the records it has been constructed by a Minister named Siriwaddana of King

Kavantissa,father of king Dutugamunu. It has a history of more than Ruwanweli Mahaseya.

Kosala Thero Chief incumbent of this Temple has brought to my notice that he himself has seen

several such erased inscriptions inside the jungle”.

Leaders of the descendants of these Malabar coolies have encouraged Tamils

living in North and East to destroy Dagobas and other places of Archeological value in order to

conceal the Buddhist Heritage in these two provinces.

Nearest example is the destruction of Sampoor Dagoba. This was recently

discovered by Emeritus Professor Wimal Wijeratne, a member of Seruvila Chatyawardena

Samitiya about two years ago. While members of Seruwaviila Chaityawardena Samitiya were

discussing the renovation program of this Dagoba, Eelamists have come to know of this

renovation program and they destroyed Dagoba completely.

Unfortunate fact is Police hierarchy and the Archeological Department did not

take any meaningful attempts to institute legal actions against the brains behind this

destruction. A curse fell on the Lorry Driver and the D8 Machine Operator and both of them

died mysteriously within seven days as reported in Daily Papers. It is said that some others

too have died who got involved in this sacrilegious act. Even the Inspector General of Police

was informed by the Buddhist to arrest the brains behind this destruction. But he willfully

refrained from arresting them. Irony is that now he too is in remand custody.

I got information that the descendants of these Coolies have imported 150

Sivalingas in the recent past. It looks like that they want to covert all ancient Buddhist Viharas

to Hindu Kovils. There is a probability that they may start a systematic campaign to claim

ancient Buddhist Viharas in the North and as their ancient Hindu Kovils.

If the government can use force to prevent demonstrators holding rallies in

Colombo, why did the Police fail to chase these Malabar Coolies who prevented the Pinnacle

Ceremony of Kurundi Viharaya.

How can there be two different rules one in south where Police use maximum force

and one in North where Police refrain from using force . Even the opposition leader as well as

the NPP leader is silent on this issue.

Indian Estate labourers are demanding a wage of Rs 1700 per day whereas poor

members of Sinhalese Buddhists have to survive with the monthly dole of Rs 5000/ -.Surely if

the salary is not enough, these labourers should be advised to go back to their mother

country without troubling us.

Further more that all our politicians are lined up to give lands originally belonged to

Sinhalese to the estate Indian labourers. No one has objected . Bikkus are silent. These estates

were acquired by force by Sirima Bandaranayake Government mostly from Sinhalese land

owners on the advise of LSSP and CP hate mongers. If the government cannot run these

estates , surely these estates should be given back to their original owners and not to these

coolies.

Granting Citizenship rights to Indian labourers were not in the Election Manifesto of

1977 Jayawrdena Government. Instead of sending them back to their mother country, he

granted citizenship right to all of them with one pen stroke. He did not have any integration

plan to absorb them to main stream of Sinhalese which was the usual pattern throughout the

history. . Now it looks like that at this rate Sinhalese have to maintain them too in the near

future.

As all these Politicians are silent on these issues which affect mainly

Sinhalese Buddhists., I would like raise this simple question. Why should Sinhalese

Buddhists vote these people in the next general election.

Finally I request you to translate this document and annexed two documents

to Tamil Language and hand over them to the so called Hindu devotees and the Christian

clergy behind this episode and demand them to reply.

In the circumstances, I humbly request you to refrain from engaging in these

sacrilegious activities until you get an acceptable reply from the so called Hindu devotees.

Ministers may come and go. But please be aware that you are holding this important post to

protect Budda Sasana and not to destroy it .

I am heavily perturbed by your recent statement that you are going to construct a Hindu Kovil

at the Kurundi Vihara site which was earlier administered by late Venerable Sumedankara

Maha Thero of Seruvila Temple during his life time. I believe that as a Buddhist leader you

should be ashamed to make such an irresponsible statement.

I am raising this question whether you are going to do the same, if these Malabar coolies

demand a Kovil at Seruvila Temple Premises.

Please note that Koneswaram Temple at Trincomalee was constructed after demolishing

three Buddhist Temples.

I am attaching a 3 page document which speaks of the brief history of Malabar coolies now

named as Ceylon Tamils.

Please note that birth rate of Muslims are so high that they have exceeded 30% of today’s

population. Surely a Muslim would become the President of this country in the year 1937 .

I would like to know what steps you have taken to prevent this situation.

TRUE HISTORY OF JAFFNA KINGDOM and CEYLON TAMILS ( malabars )

hidden by Christian Historians and the gist of Book EELAM EXPOSED”

1) INTRODUCTION

This is the Gist or Summary of my academic study titled ‘ Eelam Exposed”. This

book was published in the year 2020. It is the result of a highly academic research. The

whole process was a voyage of discoveries over discoveries . It discloses the true history of

Jaffna kingdom and Malabar coolies which was deliberately hidden by Christian historians

such as Dr.G.C.Mendis and Professor K.M.De Silva. Some readers have valued it so much

that they have already identified it as the New Mahavansaya. of Sri Lanka. However this

book has become a fatal blow to Eelam Lobby.

This book was written by me not for serene joy or for monetary gains. Buddhism

has to remain in Sri Lanka for another 2700 years according to Lord Buddha’s determination.

One of the main reasons for me to compile this book was to facilitate the fulfillment of the

above noble expectation of Lord Buddha.

Another reason was my desire to secure this country from Eelam cancer and secure

the rights of future generations of Sinhalese.

None of the Tamil Diaspora members or Tamil Intellectuals have challenged this book

up to date. Period of Four years is more than enough for anybody to challenge or contest

its contents. This alone is crystal clear proof that Its contents are unchallenged and true .

This publication was primarily aimed at both Sinhala and Tamil young generations

for them to open their eyes and realize as to how all of them were misled by politicians

during the last one hundred years.

As Prince Sapumal was able to conquer Jaffna Patao I was able to demolish

Eelam Dreamland by this scholarly work.

Famous Mampe Sannasa ( Royal Charter ) which is in the custody of Colombo

Museum states that Prince Sapumal alias Sembaga Perumal settled his relatives at

Thumbovila Village. I am proud to be a member of that lineage .

2). THIS BOOK WAS PUBLISHED TO COUNTER BASELESS EELAM ARGUMENTS , EELAM

CCONCEPTS and to restore the heritage of Sinhalese in the North and East.

Pioneers of Eelam Struggle were Sir Ponnambalam Arunachalam and Queen’s

Counsel S.J.V.Chelvanayakam . Both of them did not have Sri Lankan identification. Latter

did not have the Sri Lankan birth certificate even.

However they were able to disrupt integration program carried out by Sir D.S.

Senanayake, the First Prime Minister of Ceylon and bring Sri Lanka to this miserable level.

Tragedy is that In addition to them S.W.R.D. Bndaranayake the 4 th Prime Minister of Ceylon

brought Mr.Senanayake’s integration program to a halt by acceding to the requests of Mr

Chelvanayakam.

3). EELAM CONCEPTS

1) Firstly both these leaders misled the Tamil community that Tamils are the original

inhabitants of North and East without any historical or archaeological evidence. Tamil Diaspora

members went further and propagated the myth that Tamils are the original inhabitants of

the whole island and Sinhalese have migrated from North India and chased them to North and

East.

2) Secondly they spread the myth that Jaffna last King was a Tamil king and British

should have given independence to Jaffna separately. This was a diabolical lie. Queros, a

Portuguese historian says that Sankili 11 robbed the kingdom of Levke Bandara a 3 year old

infant. Name itself shows that he was a Sinhalese . Sankili was his uncle.

3) Thirdly they propagated the myth that Thesawalamai law is their ancient law.

However Dr. Sooriya Gunasekara has found that it is a reproduction of German Tribal law

named Jus Mandas operative in Holland at that time.

4) Fourthly they increased their 300 years old history to 3000 years overnight by

adoption of Vadukkoddai Resolution in the year 1976.

5) Fifthly Eelam propaganda machine introduced a new Dynasty called Arya

Chakrawarti Dynasty” to suit their Eelam dreamland.

All these myths were exposed by me in this scholarly work.

4). BACKGROUND OF THIS PUBLICATION

Future generations should know the reasons for me to write this voluminous book

rebutting Eelam concepts propagated by the descendants of Malabar Coolies and slaves who

were brought to Jaffna by Dutch and British rulers. I believe that One day they will

understand the difficulties I had to undergo in compiling this book which was intended to

secure their future.

There were several reasons for its publication but the immediate reason of its

publication was to protect Sacred Seruvila Temple from Eelam clutches.

This temple was constructed by King Kavantissa, father of King Dutugamunu who

emancipated Sri Lanka from Tamil invader Elara. It has been constructed in the Eastern bank

of Mahaveli river. At that time invader Elara’s rule prevailed in the Western Bank.

Since 1923 Seruvila Mangala Maha Chaityawardena Society is engaged in restoring

this Stupa and the nearby ruins . It is the only place in Sri Lanka where Lord Buddah has

offered flowers to the relics of previous Buddahs namely Kakusanda, Konagama and Kasyapa.

Chaityawardena Society with the guidance of former Chief Justice Sarath Nanda

Silva. requested the assistance of UNESCO to make this sacred temple a world heritage.

Also It held few meetings with the former President Maitrepala Sirisena who had the blessings

to this project. .

However at the last moment Mr. Rajavarodaya Sambandan, the Opposition

leader at Good Governance ( Yahapalana ) Government has sent a protest letter to UNESCO

opposing that Seruvila Temple comes under their Eelam Territory. As a result the whole

project came to a stand still. It is a tragedy that UNESCO accepted their bogus history.

To counter this situation, it became necessary to publish a book of this nature.

Late Mettaraa Thero, the Chief Incumbent of Seruvila Temple requested several Professors to

compile a book of this nature but all of them declined to accede to his request.

Finally destiny fell upon me and I decided to meet the challenge. It took almost

five years to compile this book. During this period I had to visit Archives Department and several

libraries regularly to gather information. In addition to that I had to visit several dilapidated

temples in the North and East to gather first hand information.

All reputed Book Publishers refused to publish it on the ground that it is not

economical to publish a book of this nature. Therefore I had to bear the publication expenses

too.

However I find that many politicians are not happy with this publication. Eelam

struggle was their harvesting field. Now it is no more.

BRIEF HISTORY OF TAMILS ( Malabars ) IN SRI LANKA

1) Ceylon Tamils in Sri Lanka, formerly called Malabars are similar to Rohingias in

Minemar, formerly called Burma.. They were foreigners who were brought here by Dutch

and British rulers. Immediately after gaining independence, Burmese rulers

started chasing them out from its soil. Even today the same process is taking

place in Mienmar.

2) Similar to LTTE organization these Rohingias too had their own

organizations to claim parts off Burmese territory as their homelands.. You may have

heard that they killed Bikkhus meditating in Jungles even. However Mienmar rulers

unlike our leaders were able to get rid of them immediately after gaining independence.

Idi Amin of Uganda too gave the same treatment to arrogant Indians who helped

colonial rulers .

3) However the prevailing situation in Sri Lanka was different. Our Sinhalese

leaders such as Sir .D.S.Senanayake accommodated the descendants of these

Malabar Coolies probably not knowing their brief history in Sri Lanka then called

Ceylon. As a result Sinhalese are suffering even today due to no fault of them . If our

Sinhalese historians correctly briefed Sir D.S.Senanayake, about the short history of

these Malabar coolies, most probably he would have followed a different course

regarding them. He would have either chased them out from Sri Lankan soil or would

have forced them to integrate with Sinhalese on humanitarian grounds..

4) Christian Historians namely Dr.G.C.Mendis and Professor K.M.De.Silva of

Peradeniya

University deliberately distorted the true history of Jaffna kingdom and the true history

of Malabar Coolies presently named as Ceylon Tamils. . Sangili 11 was the last ruler of

Jaffna Kingdom. He forcibly took over the kingdom of Levke Bandara a three year old

infant. Leveke Bandara’s custodian was Weerasundara Mudali. a pure Sinhalese.

Queros in his book Temporal and Spiritual Conquest of Ceylon” vividly describes

these incidents.

Yet both Dr G.C.Mendis and Professor K.M.D.Silva deliberately omitted to

mention these facts and created an atmosphere for the Eelam Propaganda Machine

to convince the whole world that Jaffna last king was a Tamil which fact is a diabolical

lie.

5) It is unfortunate that our educated Bikkhus such as Venerable Walpola

Rahula, Welivitiye Soratha, and Kalukondayave Prangnsekera Theros have failed to

realize the impending danger of Eelam concepts. Even the lay Buddhist scholars

such as Sir D.B. Jayatilleke, Professor Gunapala Malalasekera and various other

Sinhalese scholars who had

the necessary knowledge and capacity and who could have easily exposed the myth of

all these Eelam concepts failed to do so.

6) Dr. Colvin R de Silva, a stalwart of Lanka Sama Samaj Party was

another veteran historian who could have easily disproved these bogus Eelam

concepts. Therefore he too is responsible for the tragedy of last 30 year old war.

With his vast knowledge and skills, he could have easily demolished these bogus

Eelam claims even prior to gaining independence in the year `1948 .

7) However all these Sinhalese scholars were not interested in

countering Eelam

concepts for reasons best known to them. May be that they were selfish of ministerial

and ambassadorial posts and kept a Nelsonian eye on the future danger ahead of

the country. . Learned Bikkhus were more interested in their own projects such as

opening Universities and Piriven Schools… Needless to say that they all neglected

their duty to mother Lanka and allowed bogus Eelam concepts to grow freely.

Malalasekara was appointed Envoy of Ceylon in Soviet Russia the year 1957.

Chelvanayakam staged Satyagraha at Gall Face at that tme. .

8) Former Prime Minister S.W.R.D. Bandaranayake added fuel to the

fire. He formed Sinhala Maha Saba to gain the lost interests of Sinhalese. But at the

end he surrendered 3000 year old rights of Sinhalese to the North and East

Provinces , to Malabar

Coolies.

9) Tamils have less than 300 years history in Sri Lanka. They were earlier known as

Malabars. In the year 1901, Sir Ponnambalam Arunachalam, the first Ceylonese Registrar

General changed their name as Ceylon Tamils. Reason for this change was very clear. The

term ‘Malabar’ gave the impression that they were foreigners in Sri Lankan soil.

10) Who is Sir Ponnambalam Arunachalam. He is said to be a grand son of a toilet

cleaner of a Dutch Officer in Jaffna Fort during Dutch period. Sub serving the Dutch and British

his family rose up to aristocratic level similar to Bandanayake family.

11) These Malabars were brought to Ceylon ( Sri Lanka ) by Dutch and British rulers as

coolies and slaves for tobacco cultivation and toddy tapping in Jaffna Peninsula. Relevant

documents are available for inspection in Archives of both Hague and London ( Kew ) .

12) Balthies a Dutch Calvinist Priest who lived in Jaffna in the year 1654 to 1665 says

That Dutch brought 10,000 Malabar slaves and coolies from Tanjor, a South Indian City.

13 ) However Dutch did not recognize them as natives of Sri Lanka, then called Ceylon.

14 ) Even the early British administration did not recognize these Malabars as

natives of Sri Lanka.

This is how they were identified by Captain Robert Percival who was a member

of the British Team that took over the island from Dutch Authorities in the year 1796.

There is also a race of Malabars formed here somewhat differing in their

appearance from those on the continent. These different tribes of foreign settlers

greatly exceeded in number of the native Ceylonese in the District of Jaffna.”

Here the interpretation of the words ‘ greatly exceeded’ is important. If

Captain Robert Percival has used the word ‘exceeded’ only, we have to presume that foreign

Malabar population was just over 50% of Sinhalese population in Jaffna. As he has used the

words ‘greatly exceeded” we have to presume that more than 75% or 80% in Jaffna

population was Malabar coolies by the time Jaffna was taken over by British from Dutch

authorities..

This is crystal clear proof that present Tamil population in Jaffna are descendants

of these Malabar coolies.

15) Even the Government Agent of Jaffna ( Ackland Dyke ) in the year 1829 confirmed

the above identification and further said that they were only migrant labourers in the following

words. On 29 th January 1829 Jaffna Collector gave evidence before the Colebrook

Commission and said

‘In Jaffna Peninsula there is no permanent population, permanent settlements and

permanent cultivations. Malabars who are temporarily resident are engaged in Tobacco

cultivation, fisheries and trade”.

16) Thesawalamai Law is not an ancient law as claimed by Eelam Lobby

Late Dr. Suriya Gunasekara has found that it was just a reproduction of a

German Tribal law named Jus Mandas” operative in Holland at that time. Otherwise how can

there be references to Christian marriages with Pagans. As we all know Christianity came to

Sri Lanka with the arrival of Portuguese only ( AD 1505 )

17) The present legal position is that the so called ancient Thesawalamai law is

operative only in Jaffna Peninsula. Why is that? Eelam Lobby does not provide a proper

answer to this question. The correct answer is that Dutch who introduced this German Tribal

law ruled Jaffna Peninsula only. Mulative, Kilinochchi Vavunia and Mannar were under King

Rajasinghe 11 of Kandy.

18) Queros a Portuguese historian says that Sankili 11 forcibly took over the

Jaffna Crown from ‘Levke Bandara’ a three year old infant. Leveke Bandara’s custodian was

Weerasundara Mudali. Sankili 11 was not a Tamil but a prince hailed from Great

Parakamabahu dynasty.

19) Balthies says that beyond Pacchirapalli of Jafffna Peninsula , it was the kingdom

of Rajasinghe 11 of Kandy. Pachchirapalli was the Dutch Boundary. This is clear proof that

these Malabar ( Tamil ) coolies have encroached Mulative , Kilinochhi and Vavunia Districts

during the British period. In such a situation how could the descendent of these coolies claim

these districts as their motherland and there existed Kovils in these districts from time

immemorial. Kurundi Vihara dispute is the latest example.

20) Robert Knox is an another foreigner who identified Malabar Tamils as non

citizens of this soil. He says that Malabars had to pay an extra tax known as Ooliyan Tax to the

king if they were to hold lands.

21) Our Christian Historians namely Dr.G.C.Mendis and Professor K.M.B.De.Silva of

Peradeniya University have deliberately hidden the Jaffna true history. Educated Sinhalese

leaders such as Sir D.B.Jayatilleke and Professor Malalasekera have acted as deaf and dumb

people . Tragedy is that they did not expose the myth of Eelam at the correct hour. As a result

Sinhalese have already lost their inborn rights in the North and East.

22) Malabar Tamils were settled in the North and East in different stages. Those

who were settled by Dutch in Jaffna Peninsula were mostly migrant labourers whose families

lived in South India . This was the evidence of Ackland Dyke, the Government Agent of Jaffna

before the Colebrook Commission.

23) Colombo Kandy Road was completed in the year 1829. Malabar coolies were

brought from South India were employed by Colonial Government in construction of the

Kandy Road. Colebrook Commission recommended to settle these coolies in the North and

East without sending them back to India.

24) 1848 was another crucial year . After crushing the 1848 Freedom Struggle,

Lord Torrington requested permission from Lord Gray the Colonial Secretary to settle

Malabars coolies in the East which had been surrendered to British under 1815 Kadyan

Treaty. This was to prevent future uprisings by Sinhalese.

25) Late Dr Suriya Gunasekara says that he saw these documents in British Archives.

These Document are missing in Colombo Archives. Dr Gunasekara says that Eelam

propagandist have stolen them,

This is the gist of my academic work Eelam Exposed. None of the Diaspora members

or the Tamil politicians have challenged it up to date. As explained in my book the

descendants of these Malabar coolies and slaves have distorted the true history of this country

and created a bogus history of their own and misled the whole world .

Even former Indian Prime Minister Rajive Ghandi too was deceived by them. If he

knew the bogus nature of their claims, surely he would not have signed 1987 Rajive JR Pact.

I went through all the statements of Sir Ponnambalam Arunahalam and

S.J.V.Chelvanayakam, the two pioneers of Eelam struggle. It appears that their main aim is to

form a Global Tamil Empire. Please note that in such a situation there will be no Sri Lanka or

India. Therefore Indian leaders have to be extremely cautious in handling this Tamil issue in Sri

Lanka.
