The United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has arrested a man charged with setting fire to a mosque in a city in the northwestern US state of Oregon.

Cody Crawford was apprehended on Wednesday for arson attack against the mosque in the Salman Alfarisi Islamic Center in the central western Oregon city of Corvallis on November 28, 2010,

The 24-year-old faces one count of damaging religious property and one count of arson.

A federal indictment alleges he set the fire because of ‘the race, color or ethnic characteristics’ of the people associated with the mosque.
